A short workshop where families can learn about the importance of soil health and composting including how to set up a composter
The foundations for successful food growing begin with healthy soil. When starting a food growing journey we must first understand soil and how we can take care of it. At this short workshop Laura from Young Growers Club will be teaching adults and young growers the importance of healthy soil and about how to build a composter. Laura will also demonstrate how to prep a no-dig bed which will be ideal if you wanted to start food growing in 2026.
This workshop will be structed like this:
2:00 - Arrival
2:10 - Introduction to healthy soil
2:20 - How to composter & building a composter
2:40 - Prepping a no-dig bed
3:00 - Event close
The event will take place outside so please dress accordingly. All ages are welcome however it would be best suited for children aged 4+.
