We're back at Within the Walls Garden Project for another fun session for home educating families and children under 5.
These fortnightly sessions offer children the opportunity to experience the changing seasons through practical gardening, science exploration and creative activities in a beautiful working garden setting.
At this session, which is our first session back since July, we will be seeing if we have anything to harvest, collecting seeds, beginning clearing our beds and doing something crafty.
Every session includes real gardening tasks appropriate to the season. Children will:
Sow, plant and grow their own crops
Learn how soil works and why it matters
Explore composting and sustainability
Observe insects and pollinators
Harvest and taste produce (when in season!)
This is not a classroom-style lesson — it’s active, muddy, practical learning in a real garden.
Mixed age friendly
These sessions are designed specifically for home educating families with a range of ages. Activities are adaptable, collaborative and supportive, making it ideal for everyone to learn together.
