Gardening Club for home ed & children under 5
I’m so excited to be running my Gardening Club sessions for home-educated children and children under 5 this autumn!
These are relaxed, hands-on sessions where children can get outside, get their hands dirty and learn about where our food comes from.
The sessions are designed to be fun, practical and suitable for young children, with plenty of opportunities to explore, make, plant and grow together.
What do we get up to?
Every session is a little different depending on the season, but you can expect lots of practical gardening alongside nature and outdoor learning.
We might:
At the sessions we might:
🌱 Sow and plant seeds
🥕 Learn where our food comes from
🐛 Discover the creatures that live in our gardens
🍂 Explore what’s happening in the garden through the seasons
🎨 Make nature-inspired crafts
🌿 Get stuck into practical gardening jobs
🔬 Explore simple science through growing and nature
👩🌾 Learn how to grow food at home
The aim is not to sit and listen to a gardening lesson — we learn by doing.
And yes, things might get muddy!

I really believe that children learn so much when they are given the chance to get their hands in the soil.
There’s something very special about watching a child sow a tiny seed, care for it and eventually harvest something they can eat — and I’d love to share that experience with you and your children.
